“President Bush has mortgaged our future with record deficit spending on the wrong priorities,” said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.). “An unnecessary and extraordinarily costly war in Iraq has turned record surpluses into record deficits.”We know that Speaker Pelosi isn't real strong on constitutional law, so perhaps she's forgotten that every tax or spending bill must originate in the Democrat-controlled House. Senator Reid must not remember that the Senate that passed those bills is under Democrat control. It must have slipped both their minds that they've been trying to steamroll the minority party on one bill after another, not even allowing debate or amendments.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) also blamed Bush for the deficit and attempted to tie the president to the expected GOP nominee, Sen. John McCain (Ariz.).
“The large budget deficit is a symptom of the many serious problems that Bush-McCain Republicans refuse to address,” Reid said.

This really takes the cake. TheHill.com - Dems blast Bush and McCain for record deficit:
How stupid do they think the voters are? How stupid are we? Enough to fall for this?
